LOCKDOWN
During the coronavirus lockdown in 2020 Graham has been collaborating online with bassist Adrian Smith, keeping up the instrument practice and having much fun at the same time.
As well as playing keyboard, Graham has experimented with sitar and tabla, incorporating the sounds of these iconic Indian instruments into his more conventional jazz approach. A double album called "Inspiring Detour" has been released in May 2021, and is available for purchase at Graham Dent at Bandcamp.

"Adrian and I knew we were already on the same musical wavelength through our numerous live gigs before lockdown, so it was relatively easy to collaborate remotely online and still come up with something good. However there were new challenges to overcome, some associated with the technology, and some with the music. It certainly involved lots of listening to each other's recordings and responding "in the moment" albeit rather less spontaneously than on a live gig.
Collaborating over the last year has kept me usefully focussed through lockdown, and has been immensely satisfying to both of us. I hope you enjoy our music." GD
